As Associate Vice Chancellor for Entrepreneurship and Executive Director of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurship Hub, Lewis Sheats provides strategic leadership for entrepreneurship and venture development at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is responsible for aligning the university’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, strengthening pathways for founders, and advancing the translation of research and ideas into startups.

Biography

Lewis Sheats is the Associate Vice Chancellor for Entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he leads efforts to strengthen startup creation, innovation, and founder development across the university. An entrepreneur and award-winning educator, Lewis has spent his career building nationally recognized programs that connect university research, talent, and ideas with real-world venture creation. Previously, he led entrepreneurship initiatives at Saint Louis University and North Carolina State University, helping launch programs that consistently rank among the top in the country.
