Enrollment Management

Areas of Responsibility

The vice provost for enrollment management oversees the Division of Enrollment Management which encompasses Admissions, Student Financial Services and the Registrar’s Office. The mission of the Division of Enrollment Management is to strategically strengthen the competitiveness of UW-Madison in achieving enrollment goals and to collaborate with campus partners to provide information and services to enhance student success. The offices within the Division provide the foundation of support and services for the academic infrastructure throughout the student lifecycle.


Steve Hahn has worked in university admissions and academic services, information technology, and enrollment management for almost 20 years. At UW-Madison, he has served the past four years as vice provost for enrollment management, overseeing recruiting, admissions, registrar, financial aid and enrollment processes to ensure a competitive, well-prepared and successful undergraduate student experience. Hahn is committed to improving access to higher education, simplifying processes and removing barriers, and making college more affordable via advocating for greater student aid.

Prior to his current role, Hahn served for ten years as the assistant dean for admissions and academic services and as chief information officer at the UW-Madison Graduate School, and from 2000-2003 as vice president of ApplyYourself, Inc., a college admissions consulting and technology company based in Fairfax, VA.  Hahn holds a graduate degree in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
